To have your French citizenship recognized in law, you could need to apply for your French nationality certificate or certificate of French nationality by submitting an application with supporting documentation to the service de la nationalité.

France has recently updated the French nationality certificate (certificat de nationalité française / CNF) application process.

From September 1st, 2022, you should complete an application form and provide compulsory  documents to submit your French nationality certificate application.

French administration should reply within 6 months - or, in case of difficulties, they have up to 18 months to reply.
